Nick Baldock
Course Director – Print and Sales Solutions
Nick Baldock's highly successful sales career spans 30 years.
His career began in 1979 with the Daily Mail, for over 4 years he worked at American Express selling Expense Payment Systems to large organisations and became the most successful salesperson in the UK in 1984/85.
He achieved the largest sale in the world (except in the USA) with Ford Motor Company and exceeded all the targets set for him each year. He also won, in 1985, the elite ‘Sales Excellence’ award – being the first person ever to do so in the UK.
In mid 1986 moved back to The Daily Mail for a year.
The next 3 years were spent mainly in Sales Recruitment in central London.
He pioneered and developed two entirely new concepts to the UK Sales Recruitment industry – one of them making the Financial Times in 1987/1988.
Finally in 1989, he decided to go freelance as a Sales Trainer.
His skill and experience lies mainly in the core selling skills from Telephone Sales to Account Management.
He has extensive experience with the Printing and Commercial Radio Industries since 1991 and subsequently won a major contract with the British Printing Industries Federation in December 1995 to represent the Printing Industry.
Outside of all of this, Nicholas has lectured at Hertford Regional College in Salesmanship. He has his D32 & D33. He also has spoken at regional meetings for the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management and more recently, the Association of Sales Professionals. On Tuesday 14th November 1995, he spoke at the Sales & Marketing Executives Association in San Francisco, California from which he received the highest evaluation score since records began.

Jo Lloyd - Course Director
Jo Lloyd has worked within the print and publishing arena for more than 20 years. Working for companies such as The Lettershop Group, Carlton Barclay and Lloyd James, Jo has been at the forefront of the industry drive into colour digital. A regular speaker at shows such as the IDMF, Digital Print World and Publishing Expo she brings real practical knowledge of the marketplace and its challenges to her speaking engagements. As a successful Sales Director for many years, she has a comprehensive knowledge of the sales techniques needed to be successful in today’s business environment.

Peter Lancaster - Course Director
XL Training are delighted to announce that Peter Lancaster has joined as a Consultant offering a range of Digital Sales, Technical and W2P Training Courses. Peter has 30 years of experience in graphic arts, digital print management, and workflow solutions. Using his extensive knowledge of Web to Print and VDP environments, W2P Ltd was set up to provide both strategic and operational expertise for today’s rapidly changing market. Prior to setting up W2P Ltd, Lancaster served as Managing Director of St Ives Graphic Media, a provider of one-to-one marketing communications and e-procurement solutions for print. Previously he was MD of GDI, which launched Europe’s first Web to Print system for stationery products. Clients included Freeserve, BT, AOL, Sky Sports, Barclays Bank and Boots. Before moving into senior management, he was a highly successful salesman with Indigo, launching the E-Print 1000 in the UK and with Scitex, where he was Europe’s top salesman, before progressing into a sales management role. DuPont provided him with his first digital role with the launch of the forerunner to the CDRom, the Phillips-DuPont Optical WORM Disc.
